I am in the process of inviting faculty to join this blog. If you speak with someone who has not been invited, please let me know, and let them know that I am in the process of sending invites (hungry and going home now though!).

ReplyDeleteIt might be good to start several discussions, such as: Math, Science, Fine Arts, etc. that way it will be easier to organize comments, etc. Just a suggestion...

DeleteI would like to know how it will affect class size and teacher salaries. How can charter status make what we are doing different than what we are already doing. We have many teachers visiting businesses, bringing in guest speakers, providing opportunities for students to experience the real world. Why would "charter" be better???
ReplyDeleteI think the charter application is set. I do look forward to the draft Mr. Moye has promised, but I doubt he will look to us for changes, there doesn't seem to be time.

I still don't know what the benefits actually are. It seems like the only benefits are possible grants.
Most importantly, what are we giving up?
Thank you for sending out the copy of the proposed Charter for us to read for ourselves. I strongly suggest that everyone who took the time to participate in this discussion also take the time to read the Charter.
